How to hear us

The World Radio Network channels in English, Russian, Arabic and Persian can be received from direct-to-home satellites, cable TV, internet audio streams and some local radio affiliates, as well as via the TuneIn phone app. Our English channel operates different programming schedules for Europe, North America, and Africa-Asia listeners.

English

Satellite in Europe, the Middle East & North Africa

Receive us free-to-air on the HotBird satellite at 13 degrees east on 10.949 GHz vertical polarisation (SR=25,500 FEC=3/4). The channel is free to air and will appear on the list of radio stations. Those with receivers provided by bouquet operators (such as Cyfrowy Polsat, Nova or Sky Italia) should manually tune their receivers and save the channel.

This is the coverage area.

Principally for listeners in the UK and Ireland we are on Sky channel 0122. Those with a generic receiver and dish pointed to Astra 2 at 28 degrees east can also tune to 11.686 GHz vertical polarisation (SR=22,000 FEC=5/6). This is the coverage area and the channel is free to air.

A number of cable systems carry us, for instance Virgin Media on channel 920 in the UK, and in Ireland on 917.

In Paris tune to selected programmes on World Radio Paris on DAB

In the Malaga area listen overnight on Radio Sol de Almijara 87.8FM

You will also find us on the TV sets in some European hotels.

Tune to us free-to-air on the Galaxy 19 satellite at 97 degrees west on 12.177GHz vertical polarisation (SR=23,000 FEC=3/4)

Satellite in Africa & Asia

In Africa and Asia we are found on Intelsat 20, C band on 3887MHz, vertical polarisation (SR=2960 FEC=3/4)

Throughout Africa subscribers to DSTV (Multichoice) can hear us on channel 854. This is transmitted via Eutelsat 36B (11.881 GHz, vertical polarisation SR=27,500 FEC=3/4)

Additionally in East Asia free-to-air on Telstar 18 at 138 degrees east on 12.429 GHz, horizontal polarisation (SR=3.33 FEC=1/2)

Badr 4 (Arabsat) at 26 degrees east on 11.996 GHz, horizontal polarisation (SR=27,500 FEC=3/4)

Nilesat 201 at 7 degrees west on 11.958 GHz, horizontal polarisation (SR=27,500 FEC=5/6)

HotBird at 13 degrees east on 10.949 GHz vertical polarisation (SR=25,500 FEC=3/4).
